Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities

Our Mission:

SERV Achievement Centers, Inc. has been providing teaching, training, and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and youth with behavioral challenges and emotional problems since 1987. Services are individualized and based on an applied behavior analysis approach in treatment planning, teaching, and service provision. All services promote individual responsibility, increase self-reliance, and teach individuals and their families the skills necessary to live and work successfully in the community.

Overview of Services

Individual Supports Housing (Ages 21+)

SERV Achievement Centers, Inc. provides a continuum of care that allows for varying levels of support and supervision. Residential programs are located in community settings and engage individuals by modeling appropriate social and behavioral skills, developing individualized goals, and encouraging independence. SERV residences provide individuals and their families with long-term, well-structured living environments where they may thrive, develop friendships, find meaningful employment, and become active within their communities.

Supervised Apartments (Ages 21+)

For adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities who have achieved a higher level of independent functioning, this apartment program provides supported independent living with on-site, trained staff.

Progressive Achievement Centers (Day Habilitation Program) (Ages 21+)

Progressive Achievement Centers (PAC) in Mercer and Union counties offer adult day habilitation and pre-vocational training programs that help individuals develop and improve their skills. PAC staff coordinate with local businesses and organizations to place individuals in working environments where they can receive employment benefits, learn new skills, and become active community participants.

Referral Process 1-(833) CAN-SERV (226-7378)

Individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities are referred to SERV through the New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) for all services. If you know someone who would benefit from these services, please get in touch with their DDD case manager for a referral. If you need assistance in obtaining these services, please get in touch with our office.

Cost of Care

Once eligibility is determined, most services are paid for through DDD, Medicaid, or other funding sources. When such programs do not cover services, SERV Achievement Centers, Inc. offers a sliding-scale fee.
